Happy Mother’s Day
Today I was awakened at seven in the morning
with kids eager to feed me food that is boring;
I smiled and rubbed my eyes,
opened my gifts to a lovely surprise,
books and flowers and cards that were funny;
My day does not end here,
off to a horse show where I can cheer,
and dinner at six
at the restaurant of me picks;
Dessert will hopefully be kids in bed early,
and me getting a little sumtin-sumtin to rid me of my surly
attitude this week.
How was your Mother’s day?

That was cute!
I got up, fixed grandson breakfast, showered, dressed up and met a complete stranger at Starbucks to discuss a website of mutual interest. Turned out to be an adorable 40 year German with an equally adorable English accent. On way back home, attempted to bribe grandson into going to beach and Shrimp Basket on the beach. Nope. Cooked him a hamburger. Sent my daughter in Mobile some emergency funds, and assisted Grandson with purchase of his mom’s present. Received mum’s day call from assisted daughter. Received nice card from “H” who said last week he was leaving me. Now watching movie with grandson. No offers of dinner forthcoming. But its a good Mother’s Day, as I am not crying. Well, just a little bit thinking of the lovely cards I used to received from my deceased son. I’m delighting in the beautiful weather and the nice time drinking coffee outside on a patio with a new friend. Thas it. Glad yours is good. And enjoy your grand finale tonight!

So cute! Hope that sumpin-sumpin was as good as the sumpin-sumpin I woke up to this morning. You go girl! Oh, and Happy Mother’s Day!

Cute! My day was good. My kids gave me some cute gifts they made at school, and then my son threatened to take it away if I didn’t “act nicer”.

I got an amazing breakfast in bed (crispella with strawberries and Nutella sauce, plus tea and sausage), but then I also got to change the sheets on the bed. ‘Cause everyone ate on board, and the place was trashed.
It was great!

That’s lovely. I’ve discovered how important a husband is to celebrating mother’s day! But I was still very glad ot be with my kiddies after a two week absence.

It was Mother’s Day in Italy too, so i called my mum bright and early and wished her a good day. Then in the evening she called me back to say, “Thanks for the flowers!”
“Er… the flowers…?”
“Oh, you know nothing about it, do you?”
“Did I send you flowers?”
“Your sister gave me flowers and said they were from both of you.”
Well, thanks for tipping me off on that one, big sis!

Hi Gardenia:
It sounds like that granson of yours is a wonderful kid to have around. I hope next year is a much better day than this year!!!
Hi Holly:
I’m sure it was.
Hi Rachel:
Did you at least get out of the car to walk some of that shoreline?
Hi Angela:
Yup. It was. Glad you got some too!
Hi Em:
Did you act nicer? Did you make him take them away? Did you pitch a fit screaming that it was YOUR day and not his???
If it was a nice gift I would have been nicer. If it wasn’t I would have told him to take it back. hehehe.
Hi Ceo:
It seems I touched on a sensitive topic. I’m sorry. Would you like my mom? I’m not using her.
Hi Jocelyn:
That sounds waaayyyy better than my half asses breakfast. From now on Dad MUST supervise.
Hi Glam:
the poem just made it sound nicer than it really was.
Hi Citizen:
Funny how Mother’s day is just like every other day, only with cards and flowers.
Hi Red:
Sorry, but now you know to just go along with it in the future!!!
